What You'll Learn
Aussie Conditions
Look, there's nothing worse than squinting through a smeary mess when a sudden autumn downpour hits. After 15 years on the tools, I've seen blokes spend a fortune on wipers when all they needed was a proper glass decon and a decent repellent. This guide is for anyone sick of bug guts and salt haze ruining their view. It's quick, simple, and makes a massive difference on the highway.

Pre-Start Checklist
What You'll Need
Step-by-Step Treatment
Deep Clean
Give the glass a heavy spray and wipe. I learned the hard way on a dusty Hilux that if you skip this, you’re just grinding dirt into the glass.
Mechanical Decontamination
Use your clay bar with plenty of lube (glass cleaner works fine). You'll feel the grit disappearing. Keep going until the bar glides silent.
Polish the Surface
Apply a small amount of glass polish. This removes water spots and road film that normal washing won't touch. Work in circular motions, then buff off.
The IPA Wipe
This is the most important bit. Wipe the whole screen with IPA to ensure it's chemically clean. If there's any oil left, your repellent won't bond.
Apply Repellent
Work in small sections (half a screen at a time). Use a cross-hatch pattern (up and down, then side to side) to ensure total coverage.
The Cure and Buff
Wait the recommended time (usually 5-10 mins). If it gets grabby, a tiny mist of water helps the final buff. Use a fresh, dry microfibre.
