What You'll Learn
Aussie Conditions
Look, we all love a run up Noosa North Shore or a weekend at Fraser, but the salt spray and sand will absolutely kill your interior if you leave it. I've seen three-year-old Landcruisers with rusted seat rails because the owners didn't bother with a proper clean-up. This list is my personal 'get it done right' routine I use for my mobile detailing clients.

The Recovery Process
The Blow Out
Use your air compressor or leaf blower to blast sand out from under the seats and between the console. It's messy, but it saves you hours of vacuuming.
Aggressive Vacuuming
Use the drill brush on the carpets while vacuuming. This vibrates the sand to the surface. I once spent 3 hours on a black Commodore because I skipped this.
Salt Neutralisation
Wipe down all hard surfaces with a damp microfibre and APC. Salt spray leaves a sticky film you can't see, but you'll definitely feel it later.
Seat Track Maintenance
Wipe the metal seat rails with a damp cloth. If you see salt crust, clean it off and apply a tiny dab of lithium grease so they don't seize.
UV Protection
Apply a quality UV sealant to the dash and door cards. In February, the Aussie sun will turn your trim grey in weeks without it.
Glass Clarity
Clean the inside of the windscreen twice. Salt air creates a hazy film that's dangerous when you're driving into a low afternoon sun.
